Rhino powers his way through to win the McAlpine!

Congratulations to Ryan Campbell, the former Scottish Internationalist now of Scotscraig Golfing Club, who delivered three steady rounds of 71, 74 and 69 for a 2‑under‑par total, securing the Scottish Mid-Amateur Championship by a single shot.

​

Finishing in solo 2nd was Wigtownshire County Golf Club’s Kyle McClung, who put together rounds of 75, 71 and 69 for a 1‑under‑par total.

​

It was a tight battle for 3rd and 4th place… Chris Somers of Murcar Links Golf Club, the 2025 Scottish Amateur Champion and current internationalist, claimed 3rd place with rounds of 75, 71 and 70 for a level‑par total, edging out current Ayrshire Golf Association Matchplay Champion Callum Nairn of Prestwick St Cuthbert Golf Club by way of a better inward half.

Finishing in 5th spot was a man who is consistently in the mix week in, week out, Leven Thistle Golf Club’s Scott Crichton, posting rounds of 74, 69 and 74 for a 1 over par total.

A superb standard of golf across the board and a fantastic finish to this year’s championship.

​

A huge thanks must go to The Blairgowrie Golf Club for hosting the championship this year and presenting the course in superb condition despite the weather.
